Albania's President Bajram Begaj said Albanians in the region should preserve and strengthen their national, social and cultural cohesion.

Begaj at the Kosovo Parliament's solemn session of the 25th anniversary of the country's liberation mentioned the mobilisation of Serbia “to tarnish the fair and principled fight of Albanians.

“Albanians need to preserve and strengthen their national, social and cultural cohesion even today, at a time when Serbia and its allies have mobilised diplomatic, mediatistic capacities in a deeply malicious campaign to tarnish the fair and principled struggle of Albanians for the liberation of Kosovo, we need more than ever to be together, we need more than ever for a national manifestation of pride, this does not have to complex us”, he said.

Begaj said Albanians cannot allow the draw between Serbia's programmed “and the fight for dignity, survival and freedom of Albanians in Kosovo” to be established.

“We cannot allow the draw mark between programmed Serb crime and the struggle for dignity, survival and freedom of Albanians in Kosovo to be established. We cannot allow crime to appear as a virtue at a time when the democratic world, our friends, is doing everything they can to eliminate the various obstacles to simplify the Albanian-Serbian co-existence according to European models”, he said.

Begaj said Albanians have the responsibility to maintain peace.
