The joint statement “ -- all-Serbian” between Serbia and the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Republika Srpska (RS) -- stems from legal sanitizers and is fraught with errors, the United States Embassy said on Monday in Sarajevo.
A so-called “country-wide coalition” met in Belgrade on Saturday, where leaders of Serbia and Republika Srpska called for the unity of Serbs throughout the region.
In a post on the social network X, the American Embassy said the “declaration does not constitute protection of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as the authors claim, but is a deliberate attack on this agreement and on Bosnia and Herzegovina institutions. This is dangerous”
It was organised under the slogan “A people, a congregation of Serbia and Srpska” and produced the so-called Declaration for the protection of national and political rights and the common future of the Serbian people.
The American Embassy said the statement made by Republika Srpska officials, specifically by its President Milorad Dodik and by RS National Assembly Chairman Nenad Stevja persecuted, about <x0NDdeclarata and Republika Srpska's plans for unjustly another name for the word division dealt with the Dayton Agreement and the territorial integrity, sovereignty and multiethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina<1>.
She said that the Dayton Agreement for Peace and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina explicitly stress that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only heir of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with its modified internal structure to be composed of two entities.
Neither the Dayton Agreement nor the BiH Constitution gives entity rights, or any other substate body, for division, ʹxeficiation, or what other subtle synonym of division that RS officials invent. RS is not a state and it can only exist within Bosnia and Herzegovina”, it says in response.
The embassy estimated Dodik's plans endanger the peaceful and democratic future within the Euro-Atlantic institutions Bosnia's people, including RS residents. /rel
