Ambassador of Italy: We're not against opening Ibër Bridge. We need to coordinate with internationals.

Italy's ambassador to Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, says opening the bridge over the Iber River should be done in co-ordination with international factors.

De Riu has said that this action, reflects on the security aspect and should be carefully assessed.

Among other things, he has added that Italy is not against opening the bridge, but adds that it should be done in co-ordination with the European Union, the QUINT countries and the international community in general.

“The opening of the bridge, as it has been said at the level of the European Union and Quinn, should be a joint act through a co-ordinated operation with international factors. Therefore, what we are looking for, as in many other situations, is to have co-ordination with the international community. The opening of this bridge, having reflections below the surface of security, according to us, should be carefully assessed. We are not against opening the bridge, but we seek, as in many other situations, to have a co-ordination with the European Union, with the QUINT countries and with the international community in general”, says De Riu.
