Albanologist Dr. Mehmet Rukiqi

Dr. Albanologist died today. Mehmet Rukiqi. He was the Doctor of Popular Literature, the veteran of education, the foreign associate of the Albanology Insitorist Institute and active participant of the Women's Appropriation Movement. Rukiqi is born in the village of Verboc in Drenas, the primary school conducted at Trstnik, while the high school in Drenas and the Normal School and the Faculty of Philosophy in Pristina.
Dr. Mehmet Rukiqi about 20 years worked in education. He was a teacher and teacher at several schools in Drenica, and from the 1972/73 school year he was employed at the November19 Technical School “in Pristina, but was fired for political reasons.
In 1984, the Albanian Department of Literature and Language defended the magic thesis called “In national folklore it is considered one of the students, Professor Anton Chetta's most diligent students. With Professor Anton Chetta, he interacted closely with one of the most important movements in our country's history, the Women's Appropriation Movement
From folklore gathered in Drenica and other countries in Kosovo, it has published eight volumes with analcdota: “The folk Anaekdota” and two volumes with “Wedding song” It has also published the research works *Creator and bearer of folk stories in Drenica, as well as the monographs, “Tahir Berisha” (2008), “Azem Galica” (2013) and Ramadan Shabani (2021)
The funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow at Verboc village cemetery in Drenas.
