First weekend without the Kosovo-Albania border, citizens: We are a nation, there must never be control

At the crossing in Morina, Albanian border police do not require identification documents for citizens who want to enter Albania's territory, reports TopChannel.

The border crossing decision thus took place from three to nine months of the year to facilitate the circulation of citizens of both countries.

One such thing has been welcomed by Albanian travelers from Kosovo visiting Albania.

“Now as we are a nation and we say that we are a nation and we are Albanians, we should always remove these checks that just remove the” columns.

“This is a major relief both for Kosovo and Albania”, some of them have indicated.

Not even to enter Kosovo until December 31st, travellers from Albania will not need to submit ID to Kosovo border police.

The duration of the decision to pass without controls has been especially welcomed by the citizens of Albania who travel to Kosovo daily.

They say that “should have no limit at all”.

“We travel frequently and should not have any controls at all”, one of the citizens passing through Albania to Kosovo said on Saturday.

According to the Regional Directorate of Kosovo Border Police, which manages crossings with Albania, for the first three days of May, over 47 thousand people have entered Kosovo, and over 47 thousand have also emerged from the country. /tch
