Nine more victims are accepted to participate in judicial process against former KLA leaders

Michael Doyle, spokesperson for Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( In The Hague, by week's briefing, the court has made a decision that even nine people join the existing group of victims participating in the judicial process against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. Doyle said the decision was made in January [...]
Doyle said the decision was taken in January this year, while it was recently made public and that once the demands of these persons were rejected after they were handed down out of the deadline that had been set, reports “Justice Vought”.
“In Thaci's judgment and others, the Judicial Chamber made public the decision it issued in January over some people who resurfaced requests to be admitted as victims, following the order of the Judicial Chamber for additional information. The Judicial Chamber decided to accept nine pretentious requests it originally rejected after submitting the requirements after the set term by the Judicial Chamber”, Doyle said.
Doyle also said the nine accepted forgers have different personal circumstances and reside in different areas, but that at the same time have been the object of alleged crimes.
The accepted predeceivers have different personal circumstances, reside in different areas, and speak different languages. At the same time, as they were the object of alleged similar crimes under generally similar circumstances, they were tried to have common interest in participating in the process and to seek their rights. Consequently, the front-runners joined the existing group of participating victims and were represented by the same defender”, Doyle said.
Prior to that, Doyle said the court was convinced that nine forgers were victims of crimes allegedly committed in the countries mentioned in the indictment.
“In the January decision, judges concluded that for eight of the predecessors it had not been virtually possible to hand over the requirements before the deadline and that it was in the interest of justice to examine the foundation of the request of the ninth architer. The Judicial Chamber became convinced that the nine forgers were victims of crimes allegedly committed in the countries mentioned in Aktakuza during the corresponding time period”, he said.
Similarly, he announced that the prosecution's request has been approved that all parties in the case of former KLA leaders have access to confidential versions of the judgments, including that of Apel in the case of Salih Mustaf.
According to Doyle, the decision was made on May 1st in which the court has found that there is a legal goal allowed to seek access to bias.
On May 1st, the Judicial Chamber approved the prosecution's request that all sides in the Thaci case and others have access to confidential versions of the Apel's Action and Act on the Salih Mustafa case. Taking into account that these two issues vary considerably, the Judicial Chamber found that there is legitimate legal intention to seek access to these judgments”, Doyle said.
DPS spokesman said the court reminded the participating parties that confidential parts should not be brought to the public.
“Based in the prosecution's request and following consultation with the Judicial Chamber and Appeals Panel in the Mustafa court case, the Judicial Chamber also found that adopting the motion would not affect safeguard clauses in power, as well as pose no danger to victims and witnesses. However, the Judicial Chamber reminded the parties and participants of the confidential classification of these versions of the Actions and that confidential parts should not be brought to the public”, he said.
He indicated that during this week the testimony of three witnesses who two of them have been closed has been heard.
“Seconcences in the judgment Hashim Thaci and co-accused youth on Monday, April 29th, with testimony from the 58th witness called by the Prosecutor. The 59th witness, Nuredin Abazi, began witnessing Monday and testified mostly at the open session. According to the summary presented by the Prosecutor, the witness was a member of the KLA battalion in Budakova and later served as legal adviser in the Pastrick area. Lord Ahaz was asked questions by the Prosecutor, defence teams, and judges. On Tuesday, the 60th witness called by the Prosecutor's Office” witnessed, he said, adding that the hearings would resume on Monday, May 6th starting at 09:00.
However, Doyle added that the Pre-Procedure Court, at the request of defence, extended the deadline within which Mr. Bahitari must hand over forms and supporting documents to seek legal assistance in the DHSK.
The new “Affat is May 3rd. The judge supported the decision on the progress made in completing the relevant” documents, Doyle said.
