Ukraine's forces have abandoned several positions in the northern Kharkiwi region due to the Russian serious attack. International media suggest that some of the populated areas of the Kharkiwi region have come under Russian forces' control, leading Ukraine towards collapse.
Moscow's forces have announced they have taken five villages northeast of Ukraine, the Russian Defence Ministry quoted. Ukrainian officials have not confirmed such a fact, but Ukraine's President Voldymy Zelensky has announced that military forces have concentrated on 7 villages in the northeastern Kharkivi region.
The Ukrainian forces' <x0ukos, according to Zelenski, is mainly on the front line - in areas where there is the highest danger of the Russian offensive. Defence operations continue in the Kharkiv region and in the seven surrounding villages, Ukraine's president stressed in a video message. Zelenskiy also added that the situation in the southern Donetsk region remains “particularly tense”.
Ukrainian military sources suggest Reuters that Russian forces have advanced a mile on Ukrainian territory and are trying to create a buffer zone” in Kharkiv and regions near Sumy to prevent attacks on Russian territory. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described these attacks as Ukraine's last collapse.
Cross-border assault is another example of what's going wrong for Ukrainians this year. Their forces are slightly extended, with much less artillery than the Russians, extremely inappropriate air protection and, above all, a shortage of soldiers. Their situation has deteriorated by dry weather, allowing the mechanised Russian units to move more easily.
