New traffic law, police pronounced more than 360,000 fines per month

With the aim of increasing road safety, life protection and normal traffic development, Kosovo Police during the first month of implementation of the new traffic law have undertaken campaigns for awareness and sensibility of citizens in respect of common regulations and contributions to preventing traffic accidents”, police report said.
Police have appealed all traffic participants to respect traffic regulations.
“... because we can only jointly contribute to road safety by saving ourselves and other traffic participants”, the announcement says.
Police also suggest that during a month of implementation of the new law on traffic regulations, 27 thousand and 3 fines have been imposed on counter-intensors for over-speed, 4 thousand and 548 for non-companion of the safety belt, and 2 thousand and 659 for telephone use.
According to police, 639 unregistered vehicles have been confiscated during this period, among them: 511 cars, 11 trucks, 100 motorcycles, and 5 electric trolls.
