This decision has been strongly condemned by Israel and is seen as “bonus” for Hamasin ʹ the Palestinian group declared terrorist by the United States and the European Union leading Gaza.
These three European states believe that their initiative has great influence and will encourage other countries to do the same.
They also mention the historic role of Norway and Spain in advancing peace efforts between the Israelites and the Palestinians.
In 1991, the two sides have sat together -- for the first time ever -- at the peace conference in Madrid, which has later opened the way to so-called Oslo Agreements, signed in 1993.
The Palestinian state's “Note is about justice for the Palestinian people”, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said in Brussels on Monday.
According to him, this decision constitutes Israel's best <x0).
Plans for recognition of the Palestinian state have been presented last week through a co-ordinated announcement among the three prime ministers.
