Children should not be allowed to use smart phones before age 13 and should be stopped by conventional social media such as TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat until the age of 18, according to a report by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Macron urged experts to propose instructions for the use of smart phones by children, wanting to take decisive steps to limit their exposure to the negative impact of this technology, London Guardian reports.
At the moment, however, it is not clear how the French government can operate after publishing this report.
In January of this year, President Macro announced that “bans and restrictions are possible” in France.
The report stressed that children must be protected by the strategic growth of the technology industry, driven by profit, aimed at attracting children's attention, using all forms of cognitive skills to connect them to screens, control, re-advancing and profiting para”.
The children are becoming <x0m>=x1> in the new technology market, says the report, adding that “we want the industry to know that we see what they're doing and that we're not going to let the toy save”.
A study conducted by scientists and experts over three months, led by neurologist Servan Mouton and Amin Benjamina, the head of psychiatry at the dé d'é d'éctor at Paul-Bruce Hospital, suggests that children under the age of three should not be exposed to video screens including TV and that no child should have a telephone before age 13. /Telegraphy/
