Pirc Musar recently told the media that Pahor is “capable of taking this post” given his 17-year experience at top political positions in Slovenia.
She named him an ideal candidate, as she says, Slovenians know the situation in the region well and have no hidden motives.
During the international conference for the Western Balkans last month, former Slovenia president again voiced the desire to take that position and was supported by Prime Minister Robert Golob.
Pahor recently announced that he is working on a draft to continue dialogue and to co-ordinate with EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Giuseppe Borella, EU member states and Quinte countries, including the US, Britain, France, Italy and Germany.
The special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is appointed by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, but the final decision is made by EU leaders.
