Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has said Germany will redouble its forces under KFOR in Kosovo.
Rohde said it is a reaction following developments in Banjska, while stressing that there were 70 members in Kosovo earlier, while now they have 300.
The security situation here in Kosovo is unchanged in the last month. I mean, after Banjska, the Kosovo attack, KFOR has reacted. We now have a stronger attitude. I see no threat. I mean, KFOR is here with 27 nations with nearly 5,000 soldiers. Germany will redouble its forces. I will travel next week along with the new German contingent that will be based on Bondsteel base. We had 70 personnel here. Now we have almost 300. You see, we react to developments and I hope an attack like Banjska never happens again. So we've added patrols, security, and I don't see any imminent threats. We don't have any indicators. This does not rule out that there may be incidents in the future.”, Rohde said in an interview for A2 CNN.
