Rama with Cameron: We talked about a strategic project of particular importance for Albania, Kosovo

Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, hosted the meeting in Tirana to British top diplomat David Cameron, who he said spoke to “of a strategic project of particular importance for Albania and Kosovo”.

Rama initially said that with Cameron, he spoke to the Durres Pristina railway, which he called “a key element of the movement's increased capacities project not only between our two countries”.

“Today we have discussed our very good bilateral relations and the further deepening of them, which we have talked about both in terms of relations as two NATO member states, whether in terms of bilateral relations, in terms of when the United Kingdom aims to be more present in our” region, Rama said.

“and without entering all of our co-operation plans, I would like to stress that we have talked about the involvement of the United Kingdom in a strategic project with a particular importance for Albania, for Kosovo, but also for the region, which is the Durres Bristina Railway, which is a key element of the growth project of movement not only between our two countries, but in the region and beyond, given that we soon open the international race for the new trade port of Durres”, he added.

Rama said there are “pending NATO's final response to the military arm of the Durres Port”.

And at the same time, as you are informed, Kosovo will build a dry post in Pristina”, he said.

The Albanian prime minister said this “project exceeds simply and only the interest of our two countries, and in which the United Kingdom has expressed readiness to be included both with financing, even with expertise”.

And I am grateful to the Secretary, since he is, as I said, a very important lawyer of ours in support of all transformative processes in our region”, Rama said.

He said in advance that this is the <x0 special” day for Albania and for it personally.

We have a special friend, a known political personality. We have a friend from a country that is a very important ally and partner, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Lord Cameron, but at the same time, a special friend of this region and Albania who finally came to Tirana, after receiving the invitation for several years, and I am convinced that he will return to”, Rama said.
