Television director at Radio Television of Kosovo, rilind Gervalla, has addressed a letter to the organisation “Border-free Reporters”, where he said he was elected meritably at the helm of RTK.

He said it is part of RTK since 2000 and that during this period there have been several posts in RTK.

“1. I'm part of RTK since April 2000, being among the first workers to establish the principal directors of this post-war institution. 2. From 2015 to 2023, I have served as editor in chief of international exchanges and news reports. 3. 23 years later, part of this media family, I have competed in several positions (Secretary General and TV Director) to enter an equal competition with my RTK colleagues in a monitored and fair process. I have been praised with the highest marks in both the test and interview by the professional commission appointed by the General Director, who later proposed my name for the TV director's post for three Albanian channels ( RTK 1, 3 and 4). My name was unanimously voted on by all the RTK board members. So I haven't been appointed, but I've been selected within a regular process”, Gervalla said.

He said that he has been no part of any political entity for three years, while acknowledging that he has backed several previous causes from the opposition party -- Vetevendosje.

“4. As for my support for the ruling party now, for years I have been no part of any political subject, which means I've never violated the law or any regulations for the public competition. However, I admit that I was a defence journalist of several social and political causes established at the time by the opposition and other opposition organisations. I have supported and supported every national issue of every organisation for common welfare, even today I am an opposition voice and will forever be”, he said.

Among other things, he said RTK is now more independent than ever before.

“5. RTK works independently more than ever since its establishment. The good news of all this is that all of this institution's action is public and transparent, and from my point of view I have managed to make the programme impartial and professional reporting only increased, there is no form of pressure from outside or on my side. side by side with my” subordinates, Gervala said in his post.
