Kosovo's Correcting Service has denied claims that prisoners in Dubrava Prison are having to wait up to 10 days to clean up, referring to today's statement by LDK deputy Driton Selmanaj.
SKK spokesman Florent Gashi has said that in Dubrava and other prisons, the cleaning of prisoners is carried out in line with daily routines.
With your questions, we announce that the claims in question do not stand. At the Dubrava Correcting Centre, as well as in all corrective institutions, the cleanup of prisoners is carried out and continues to be carried out in line with daily routine”, Gashi's response to Express says.
Otherwise, Selmanaj said he heard that in Dubrava Prison, prisoners are having to wait up to 10 days to clean up.
This statement, he delivered at the Committee for Legislation meeting, where MPs talked about a series of visits that they will make through several Kosovo agencies and institutions that fall into the scope of this Commission.
But I think it's really good to go and look closely, since we've gone to Denmark and we've even entered prison rooms, seen physical conditions, and we can talk to someone just for food and so on. I didn't hear that, for example, in Dubrava prison, there's 10 days maybe they can't use the cleaning room. Or someone has privileges that they can every day, but the rest of the 10 days should be hosted”, Selmanaj said.
