Netanyah: We will fight with our fingernails

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that the threat of the United States to suspend supply with several weapons would not prevent Israel from continuing its war on the Gaza Strip, suggesting that he could conquer the crowded city of Rafah. American President Joe Biden has [...]
US President Joe Biden has repeatedly urged Israel not to invade Rafah, voicing fears that such a thing would deepen the humanitarian disaster in the Palestinian enclave.
On Wednesday, Biden said the United States would not give Israel weapons to commit offensive in Rafah, increasing pressure on Netanyah.
But, in a media communiqué Thursday, Netanyah said that “if we need to stay alone, we will stay alone. If we owe, we fight with our fingernails. But we have a lot more than” nails.
Israel's top military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, also tried to lower the importance of influence in the practice of lack of US weapons supply.
The army has ammunition for missions it has planned, even for missions in Rafah, as well. We have what we need”, Hagari said.
Israel has repeatedly threatened to invade Rafah, where some 1.3 million Palestinians over half of the population have sought refuge.
This town, south of Gaza, is also the main humanitarian operations centre, which has been greatly hampered by the closure of Gaza's two main crossings this weekend.
The war between Israel and Hamas ʹ the group declared terrorist organisations by the US and the European Union began seven months ago when members of this group carried out surprising attacks on Israeli soil, killing over 1,200 people.
Some 35,000 Palestinians have since been killed in Israel's revenge war in Gaza, according to the health authorities in enclaves.
Israel's army says victory over Hamas is impossible without taking control of Rafah city. /rel/
