Minister of Internal Affairs said that although it is not thought that war will start tomorrow, political indicators again make you think things will reach that point.
Ejup Macedonia described as disturbing the fact that politically Serbia continues to have an aggressive approach to Kosovo, while militarily it is increasing capacities, which according to him is disturbing for the entire region.
It's not like the war will start tomorrow. But political indicators give no choice if it is continued with these political forms”.
KFOR's “mandate is the preservation of the border, but in addition we are developing the Kosovo Army with all capacity and with all the necessary training and we are trying to be always ready to protect our country's territory, without violating the territory of any surrounding country, and we will do so at any means of any cost if the need” is presented.
“Synim must be peace, stability and NATO integration. Concern remains the fact that Serbia politically has hegemonistic access in relation to the republic of Kosovo and militarily increase its capacity. This creates uncertainty not only about Kosovo, but about the entire region”, Macedonia said.
“3 of the four Serbian brigades near the Kosovo border”, Macedonia: There are threats
Minister Ejup Macedonia has indicated that Kosovo has continued threats on Serbia's part.
Macedonian comments were made through a link to Euronews Albania, where he said 3 out of 4 Serbian brigades are very close to the border with Kosovo.
He also said there are 48 Serbian bases that are very close to the Kosovo border and pose a threat not only to the country, but to peace and security in the region as well.
For several years we have a militarism of Serbia, as in terms of supply with weapons systems, in an attempt to increase the number of military personnel, even in meeting its units. For several years we have witnessed that Serbia keeps three of its four brigades south of its territory, not far from its border with Kosovo”.
“also holds 48 military bases, 20 of them gendarmerie and 28 military, with a distance of 300m to 5km from the border line with the Republic of Kosovo. These normally pose a threat, are a tool of pressure on Kosovo, but also peace and stability in the region”, Macedonia said.
