In an interview for Kosovo public television, he said Prime Minister Albin Kurti has threatened several deputies of the LVV Parliamentary Group with no entry on election lists.
If he quit, why would he? Someone's done electoral calculations, and now they're gonna get their name. If Kurt were to resign on the request of the two smaller opposition parties, even with their pledge that then we would vote on the dissolution of the Parliament, what if the VV does not vote on the dissolution. And it's not logical that some deputies within the VV that this [Curt] has threatened to keep them out of electoral lists because of some attitude towards the Civil Code and others, why they cut themselves off. There are large numbers, there are seven or eight, up to 10 deputies”, Berisha has said.
He, he has said the only path towards moving to early elections was the initiative of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, which the two smaller opposition parties rejected.
We had meetings right after dinner. But dinner was just about the election date, exclusively. Then, within this framework, commitment has been made to the vote of international agreements. And, once these are done, it has been the appointment of an election date”, Berisha has said.
“The only judicial-unconstitutional mechanism to stop this governance is the dissolution of the Assembly. Two other opposition parties proposed the prime minister's resignation, I agree, but this is not the deal. The prime minister does not come to say, but I quit”, he's finished.
