Prime Minister Albin Kurti has written about media freedom on World Press Freedom Day following a negative report on media freedom in Kosovo.
He in an X post says the government led by him is open and ready to address media concerns.
On this World Press Freedom Day, we want to accept the effort needed to illuminate the truth at a time of great disinformation and use as weapons. Our government is open and willing to address media concerns and work towards a more transparent and pluralistic landscape”, he wrote.
On this World Press Freedom Day, we want to respond to the power it takes to see a light on the truth in a time of great & weaponized discipline. Our hope is open & willing to address the problems of the media and work towards a more transparent and pluralistic landcraft.

Meanwhile, today a number of criticisms have been made at the address of Prime Minister Kurti due to Kosovo's fall in the organisation's annual Press Freedom Index without Borders. Kosovo has fallen 19 places in this index. It ranks 75th in the world from 180 states, as opposed to last year as 56th.
