Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said the European Union and the United States have shown very mild towards Serbia and must appoint an ultimatum to impose sanctions on Russia.
In an interview for “Financial Times”, Kurti has said Belgrade should line up West over Moscow in order to provide Kosovo with assurances that it is committed to normal reporting.
“Brussels and Washintgon should change their approach and give an ultimatum to Serbia... to impose sanctions on the Russian Federation and stop trying to sit on three or four benches”, Kurti said.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has preserved close reports with Kremlin and Beijing. Vucinqi has refused to impose sanctions on Russia.
“Once Serbia imposes sanctions on the Russian Federation, then it would be a moment when they can show they want to integrate into the EU, and Serbia without Russia cannot threaten the safety of the continent. Then I could believe that they basically want peace. And the US wouldn't try to calm them down in”, Kurti said.
