Prime Minister Albin Kurti has expressed it to US Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy Liz Allen, his regret that the Committee of Ministers did not include Kosovo in the agenda of the Friday meeting, to be admitted to the Council of Europe, as the Office of the Prime Minister reports.
Kurti has told the American diplomat that “Kosovo has met all membership criteria in this organisation”.
“As for Kosovo's journey into European integrations, he expressed regret that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe was not willing to include Kosovo in the 17 May polling agenda, taking into account that Kosovo has fulfilled all membership criteria in this organisation, as confirmed by the institutions of this organisation itself, including the Parliamentary Assembly, and when it is known that our membership would contribute to the strengthening and promotion of human rights”, the ZKM reports.
They also discussed Kosovo-Serbia reports and the process of dialogue mediated by the European Union”, says Kurti's office.
“On this issue, Prime Minister Kurti stressed the importance of full and unconditional implementation of the Basic Agreement and its annex”, the ZKM reports.
During the co-operation, KKM says Kurti recognised under-secret Allen with recent developments in the country, “with the progress noted in the rule of law and economic and democratic indicators, with social policies supporting women and children, education reform aimed at connecting education with the labour market, and with policies and investments in the energy sector”.
For this latter, he thanked Undersecretary Allen for the continued support of the United States through the U.AID in the successful preparation and completion of the first solar energy auction and the Kompact programme of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), which went into effect late last month. At the meeting, the prime minister raised his grief over Serbia's continuing threats to Kosovo, even in the fact that the terrorist group's author and leader of paramilitaries who executed the September 24th 2023 attack on Banjska, Milan Radoiciq, continues to be at large in Serbia”, said the ZKM report.
