Kadri Wessel speaks at The Hague: I see a communication that is not normal, the Special is holding to the Constitution.

Former Kosovo Assembly Chairman Kadri Veseli, has long appeared and spoken at today's Specialised Chambers of The Hague session. He has demanded that the process be fair, and that it be carried out in reasonable time and also be in line with the Kosovo Constitution. I'll be [...]
He has demanded that the process be fair, and that it be carried out in reasonable time and also be in line with the Kosovo Constitution.
I'll be brief and direct with you for the fact that it's in public interest, that I'm going to say. There are two issues. The first issue has to do with the duration of this process. Since the first day we broke into this room, the prosecution's been looking transparently for 545 hours. From the first day, we have actually known that 545 hours with the process we will develop in this hall would be three years or four years, even if no questions were asked either to protect or to you as a jury”, Kadri Veseli said.
“I don't want to prejudge anyone, but what I mean is that I believe is in public interest, not only ours as accused, that someone should take responsibility for decisionmaking, that this process before the people of Kosovo be not only fair, not only transparent, not only to respect the procedures of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo, but also to preserve and ensure a fair trial and at reasonable times”, Veselin said further.
He sought not to violate Kosovo's citizens' confidence in international justice.
I as one of the accused, honored judicial body, fear that if these principles are not respected, it is not about our individual destiny, but it is a message we will send to the people of Kosovo who have created this court with full consciousness, but also with trust, to you as our international partner, and should in no way violate the trust that the legal state and international justice has, said Wessel.
Wessel also had a comment on lawyer Ben Emmerson.
There's another case involving me as accused and my lawyer. Your Honor, I see a communication that is neither normal nor professional. I'm not prejudiced, but I have a right to give a message. I would not want in things beyond my reality to be affected and judged because there is a lack of restraint in my lawyer's address”, Kadri Veseli said.
