Today is International Workers' Day in Kosovo
Over the years, this year too finds the country with protests and discontent from workers.
The United Education and Science Union protests as a sign of dissatisfaction with teachers and other workers. Marsh starts from the National Library to continue toward the Government.
This protest is meant to start at 10:30 and last until 12:30.
Even Kosovo's Democratic Youth is expected to hold a symbolic action before the Kosovo government at 10:00.
Also, the Antikypitaistic Religious Block organizes protest march for Workers' Day at 12: 00 a.m.
Unions, even in the past, have criticised the Government of Kosovo and the Kosovo Assembly, mainly for the Law for Pay.
The Law of Official Festivals in the Republic of Kosovo included eleven official holidays with twelve days off (two days of New Year's, 1 and 2 January).
Among those parties are: Constitutional Day of the Republic of Kosovo (9 April); Workers' Day (1 May) and Europe Day (9 May).
Today, workers and their unions in every country of the world protest to seek rights and better working conditions.
May 1st is born in Paris in 1889. The idea was launched during Congress of the Second International, gathered in the French capital. The objective of the first organisation, created by the ashes of the first organisation, was to coordinate the activities of all national parties linked to the movement of workers. A large manifestation was set to be performed to require public authorities to reduce workdays to 8 hours.
