The first was the Catholic Church that through a statement distributed to the media, it expressed that marriage between those of the same gender is unacceptable and fundamentally forbidden, according to its doctrine.
The Catholic Church further explained to the public that the clergyman who has formed this marriage has nothing to do with this religious institution.
A similar reaction expressing concern over the established precedent has also made the Orthodox Church of Albania, stressing that no “culture, religion or system of laws has institutionalised homosexual coexistence as marriage”.
“Regarding the marriage of the same gender, conducted in Tirana City, yesterday, dt. May 19, 2024, as expressed earlier, as in the January 2024 statement, Albania's Orthodox Church takes the same position: It is well - known that mankind's eternity has been based on the existence of two genders and their union. The unnatural does not become natural by legal decree. Rather, such a law offends creation”, the statement states.
The Orthodox Church further emphasizes that a homosexual marriage “is not social progress, but a conflict with natural order, down the”.
“Cisha is obliged to clearly articulate the concept and value of marriage, the importance of family and childbearing in accordance with its sacred texts and its centuries - old tradition (as stated in the Holy and Great Sinodox Church in Crete in 2016). ”
Tirana's Muftiia also says in a statement to the media that she has conveyed with concern the legally unsubstantiated act of a <x0-marginated” between two individuals of the same gender that was held in the municipality of Tirana.
Tirana's mufti calls on institutions to be cautious of such events by not being profiled in the opposite direction with the vast majority of Albanian voters and taxpayers.
“With the same intensity, Mufti Tirana also conveys the concern of thousands of Tirana's believers and citizens, who feel irritated before such an act that does not represent either the worldview or religion or the tradition of Albanians. Developing such a procedure contrary to Albanian law and the Family Code of the Republic of Albania is a dangerous act to legalise and normalise a process that is trying to be willingly imposed through the destruction of our family and national culture. Mufti Tirana remains fully and strongly committed to supporting and promoting family values as the essence of societies created by God, the Most High for mankind's prosperity. It also remains engaged in promoting any act aimed at raising the morality of our national conscience, as well as any venture that leads to our public material or spiritual well-being. ”
For the gay marriage ceremony in Paris, Tirana has also reacted Sunday, as did Freedom Party leader Ilir Meta, who accused the government and accredited diplomats in Tirana of turning Albanian youth into homosexuals, writes A2Con.
