According to the first results by the KSHZ, Siljanovska has received 560 thousand votes, while Pendarovski received 251 thousand votes.

In her first speech after the results were announced, Siljanovska said she would be president of all citizens, regardless of ethnic or party affiliation.

I say that from this moment on, I will be president of all citizens, of all ethnic groups, of party members, of those who are not in the party, because a president, especially if he is a woman, cannot unite or seek unity if he adheres to party lines”Siljanovska said.

The 2024 presidential election was Silanovska's second bid for the head of state, as in 2019 he lost the same counter-Candidia, Stevo Pendarovski. The first time Pendarovs won him with 58,000 votes.

Gordana Siljanovska-Dukova programme

Regarding constitutional changes, in its programme writes how president she will build consensus with the government, but also with the opposition.

The goal of European integration is Europeanisation according to the Copenhagen criteria. In the good neighbourly agreement with Bulgaria, there is no part of the change of the Constitution of Macedonia”, writes in Silanovska's programme, referring to constitutional changes to the introduction of Bulgarians to the Preambulla Constitution, which are conditional on continuing the European path of the RMV.

In public presentations, Siljanovska has avoided political answers to constitutional changes and has largely provided answers to the law theory.

In interview for searching REL, Silanovksa, has said that the country's president does not decide whether there will be changes to the Constitution, or not. But in question whether the new parliamental composition votes to constitutional changes and she is president, Silanovska has responded to respect them.

Without North “” in public views

Presenting the platform he competed with in the presidential election, Siljanovska-Davidova said that “ai is a programme for the protection of state interests and the return of pride for Macedonia”.

It did not use the new name of the state under the Prespa Agreement signed with Greece in 2018.

By respecting the clearly expressed will of the citizens of Macedonia from September 1991, as well as September 2018, but as a citizen, I will not use the surname “North” in my talks to the public”She writes on the program she came up with in the election.

The Prespa Agreement was signed in 2018 by then foreign affairs ministers of Macedonia and Greece, Nikos Kozias and Nikola Dimitrov, as a solution to the Macedonian-Greek dispute on the name Macedonia, which was negotiated between the two countries for 27 years.

Questions About the Prespa Agreement

In the foreign policy part, Siljanovska-David also pledged to be ahead of the overall “active player” in European Union member states to open Macedonia's path towards the EU. However, it still considers the issue of the Prespa Agreement open “legally and politically”.

The Prespa Agreement, along with constitutional amendments, has been adopted in opposition to national law and disputes under international law, especially regarding the right to self-rule, the principle of equality of states, intervention in the internal affairs of the sovereign state, and identity violation is also a serious violation of the collective and individual human rights of the citizens of Macedonia”, She writes on her program.

In presentations on the campaign, Siljanovska-Davidova said that in terms of the Prespa Agreement, “all its actions will be within the framework of local and international law”.

More Science Experience, Less Political

Siljanovska-Davidkova will be 71 years on May 11th, a day before the mandate of incumbent President Pendarovski's mandate.

Although over the years he repeatedly entered the political arena, in various roles, Siljanovska-Davidkova is best known to public as a law expert.

From 2004 it is a regular professor of constitutional law, political system, modern political systems and local self-government at the Jurydical Faculty “Justinian I” in Skopje. She received her doctorate at Ljubljana University in 1993.

She was a member of many local and international legal institutions and associations, including the Venice Commission for Mine Affairs.

For the first time in politics, it entered the 90th years of the past century, with the suggestion of the Liberal Party, as the minister without portfolio in the first government of then prime minister by LSDM, Branko Crvenkovski (1992-1994).

It became more active in 2004 and 2005, when it went against the Law on Territorial Organization known as the division of municipalities after the Framework Agreement (signed in Ohrid in 2001 and ended the conflict in Northern Macedonia). More Albanian majority municipalities were created by this law.

In 2017 it was loud against the Law for the Use of Languages, which made the second official language in northern Macedonia. For this law, Siljanovska-Davidkova said it is unconstitutional and that it destroys the spirit of the Framework Agreement.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, Siljanovska-Davidova was the owner of the OBRM MP candidate list- DPA and Coalition in the first election unit. Since August 2020, she is an MP in the Assembly.

However, she says she is autonomous in her actions as an MP and does not want to be linked to the OBRM- DPA because it's not a party member.
