Gervailla's letter, Maliqi: The government is thinking it could get a “phollour” as militants

Political editor Agon Maliqi has said that the letter Kosovo Chief Diplomat Donica Grovall sent to Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe President Theodoros Rousopoulos today, where he announced that Kosovo is writing a draft state for association and that it will be delivered to the Constitutional Court by the end of the month, will [...]
According to Maliqi, the Government of Kosovo lives in a parallel universe where it thinks that the <x0 West states can fit “follrate” as militant”.
“Whoever studied international relations, I believe has done <x1simulatives”, where students play state roles and often create unrealistic scenarios. Kosovo today is being governed as student simulations. We had 2+ years as a state to send our maximum union draft. Now when the space of dialogue effectively closed and the opportunity to become something more serious during the Biden administration, even the door for the Council of Europe this year, the government comes out with a maneuver that “we will send a draft based on FES by 31 May.” This will be treated by the Allies as a mockery of them”, Maliqi wrote.
The letter comes now that Kosovo is trying at the last moment to join the KiE. The Committee of Ministers, which must finally decide on this, meets today and tomorrow.
Through a Facebook post, Gervala wrote that the letter contains the pledge that the Government of Kosovo will prepare a draft, while the letter has been published fully by Gerald Knaus from the European Initiative for Stability.
“Letra contains the pledge that the government of the Republic of Kosovo will prepare a draft for the creation of a mechanism for isolation, co-ordination and co-operation of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo, which fulfils the inherited international obligations of Kosovo, meets the needs of the citizens of the Serb community of the Republic of Kosovo, but also respects the Constitution and in each detail all the laws of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the principles of the Council of Europe”, wrote Gervala on Facebook.
It says that “such a draft serves on the one hand the government's intention to integrate non-US communities and implement the laws of the Republic of Kosovo in all municipalities”.
The draft that is being prepared, says Gervalla, “ensures not only the full respect of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo, but at the same time has no access to illegal interventions from abroad, both in Kosovo municipalities and throughout the country”.
Now, she says Kosovo wants and expects the Committee of Ministers to eventually accept the country in the CoE this month.
“After today's realisation of our pledge to take an important and tangible step in fulfilling our commitments, we seek and expect the Council of Europe to fulfil its share of the obligation and invite Kosovo to join the Council of Europe without delay, as the country not only that the conditions for membership have been imposed on this organisation but that has fulfilled all these conditions”, writes Gervala. / Express/
