EU expects new Macedonian government to be stable, committed

The European diplomat stressed that the bloc believes in forming a stable government, which would be dedicated to the obligations it has made both inside and outside the country.
“We expect the formation of a stable government as soon as possible. What we want to see, after forming the government is that the new executive tosses up and implements reforms required on the path to integration towards the European Union”, Geer said.
Skopje has long been urged to make constitutional changes for the inclusion of the Bulgarian minority in its preamble as a statehoodn people. These changes are the condition for launching talks between him and Brussels for EU membership.
The new government -- according to VMRO DPMNE chairman Hristian Mickoski, who is expected to receive the mandate for forming the new executive after his principal won the elections -- will be formed in collaboration with the V coalition. LEN of Albanian opposition parties, later until the first week of June.
VMRO says it is not against the involvement of Bulgarians in the Constitution, but requires guarantees that Sofia will not submit new demands towards Skopje.
Meanwhile, Geer declined to comment on clashes between political parties, and in particular the Democratic Union for Integration “charges for “do not respect the will of Albanians in the elections”, as well as the boycott of the session when Africa Gashi was elected the new head of the Northern Macedonia Assembly.

Northern Macedonia's Assembly was constitutionalised on May 28th, while Afrem Gashi was elected to chairman of the Assembly from the V coalition. LEN.

DUI said 29 May that the new parliamentary majority and therefore the government that will be formed “is not legitimate”, since, according to DUI Chairman Ali Ahmeti, “elections on May 8th in Albanians have been won by the European Front, which even has the legitimacy of Albanian voters”.
In the May 8th elections, the European Front, led by DUI, won 18 mandates, while the V coalition won the vote. LEN 14.
The latter says DUI cannot claim to the legitimacy of the Albanian vote, as part of the European Front are four other entity parties in northern Macedonia. REL
