Within the official visit to Washington, D. C, Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Grovalla, has held a lecture at the American Institute “New Lines Institute for Strategic and Policy”, where the fundamental global security and security challenges in the Southeast European region were addressed.
Gervala, has announced that during the discussion on how much, she has stressed Kosovo's concerns about the influence of Russia and China in the region.
I took the risk of a potential conflict in Southeast Europe, calling for continued support from the United States and the European Union in the fight against propaganda, dezination and destabilising actions of Serbia and Russia, which threaten not only the Western Balkans, but all of Europe”, Gervala has said.
During the U.S. position, Minister Gervala has also held a meeting with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien.
Gervala has said that the spirit of special relations between the two states during the meeting has been addressed in numerous aspects of deepening bilateral co-operation, strengthening the rule of law and democracy, and living aspirations for the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in international organisations.
“We also discussed other current developments in the country, emphasising on the dedication of institutions in maintaining peace and stability in the country and the region, as well as curbing security threats”, Gervala has said.
The chief of Kosovo diplomacy has met with Democrat Congresswoman Gregory Meeks, who is known as a major supporter of Kosovo, with whom they discussed intensifying American congressmen's visits to Kosovo and strengthening co-operation on specific issues, both in Kosovo's foreign policy and in the development programmes of democracy, economy and education.
During this meeting, powerful relations between two states and two peoples were confirmed, noting that Kosovo's citizens -- even international measurements -- turn out to be the most pro-American citizens in the world.
Gervala and Meeks also talked about the security situation in the Western Balkans and the destabilizing actions of Serbia and Russia in the region.
