Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi, after voting for the second round of presidential and parliamentary elections, has been asked by journalists for the involvement of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in the election.
Every public statement has a degree of influence on perception, but I hope that citizens will decide for themselves. I am prime minister and Northern Macedonia is one of the first countries to have recognised Kosovo's independence”, Xhaferi said in front of reporters.
On the other hand, he stressed that he expects elections to be free until he added that “expect convincing victory”.
Northern Macedonia citizens have turned to ballot boxes Wednesday to elect the country's new president and parliament, until no irregularities in the dual election process have been reported so far.
In the presidential race are two candidates -- the first round winner, VMRO- candidate. Opposition DPMNE, Gordana Silanovska-David, and current head of state Stevo Pendarovski, who is supported by the ruling Social Democratic League (LSDM). And Albanians' vote in the second round of presidential elections will be crucial to the country's new president.
Otherwise, the main battle in the race for 120 seats of parliament, attended by 17 MP lists, takes place among VMRO- DPMNE and LSDM at the Macedonian camp, while in Albanian camp between the European Front run by the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) and the opposition Albanian coalition V LEN, which is supported by Kosovo's prime minister.
