Dardan Krivaqas retrial Marigon Osman's parents leave Kosovo for security reasons

On Friday 24 May at the Foundation Court in Ferizaj has held the retrial hearing, where accused Dardan Krivaqa and Arber Sejdiu have pleaded innocent to the violation and murder of Marigona Osmani.

In this session, Dardan Krivaqis' lawyer has sought to make psychiatric application of the accused Krivaqa and her; prior to the commission of criminal acts, including the period since the 5th grade, the time of his stay in custody, the detention centre for Mitur and the time spent in Dubrava Prison.

His request has not yet been approved by the court.

The Osman family lawyer told Insider that he views it as unnecessary, since psychiatric and psychological examinations have been conducted against the accused earlier.

“It's completely unnecessary, there's become an expertise, it's become psychiatric and psychological expertise of all. 21 days the defendant has stood at the Institute of Faranic and Psychiatry. They've all been tested. These are the trends for procrastinating procedure, and it's meant to be like that. Don't fuck me well. Do you really want to avoid life imprisonment?”, he said.

According to family lawyer Osmani, defence demand is a tendency to avoid life imprisonment.

“The 133 times the person is facing justice and has been doing well in a calm, quiet mental way. It is a tendency of protection and just accused of avoiding life imprisonment”, he declared for Inseder.

On the other hand, the lawyer also confirmed that Marigon's parents are abroad for security reasons.

After the retrial, he says, parents are feeling very insecure.

“The case that has been carried out in the retrial, parents are making themselves very insecure to come here to Kosovo. They're feeling insecure because they have their doubts to come back. They've got tingling after the action they've done and they're suspicious.” said away.

Otherwise, Ferizaj's Foundation Court on 4 August 2023 has sentenced Dardan Krivaqen to life in prison for the murder of Marigona Osmani. While he was acquitted of rape. Arber Sejdiu had been sentenced to 15 years in prison for help in the serious murder in co-ordination. Sejdiu had been released from criminal offence and aid in violation.

But, The Court of Appeals with approval of the Constitutional Prosecutor's complaint in Ferizaj and the protection of the two indictees has turned the case into retrial.

18-year-old Marigona Osmani was killed on August 22nd in 2021 at the residence of the chief accused, Dardan Krivaqa, in the town of Ferizaj.
