The commander of the NATO-led Kosovar Force (KFOR), Major General Ulustaş, has met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti today, following recent actions taken by Kosovo Police. resulting in the closure of six units of the Post Savings Bank in northern Kosovo.
According to KFOR's announcement, Commander I has told Kurt that unilateral actions could exacerbate tensions. He said these actions should be avoided and that proper co-ordination should be maintained among all relevant actors.
“He also reiterated the firm commitment by all KFOR personnel to continue implementing the UN mission's long mandate to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and freedom of movement. At any time and impartially; and he reiterated NATO's full support for the EU-brokered dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as the only way to resolve unresolved issues, for the benefit of all communities”, the report said.
Kosovo police have closed six units of the Savings Post Bank in the north on Monday, which have acted illegally.
