Citaku: Top election in July, coalition with LVV hardly possible

Citaku warns that co-ordination with opposition parties to take the country to the polls, until he emphasises that on the basis of the current governance of the Vetevendosje Movement, it will have difficulty connecting the coalition after election.

The PDK official in an interview for kp says early elections make sense to hold up to the next 50 days, as if taken from autumn onward, it will be introduced into the normal election cycle.

“Q from July last year The PDK at the Steering Council meeting has received no vote in any legal initiative of government and has demanded that the country go as soon as possible to the polls. Of course, our preferred model has been resignation or dismissal, but since we lack votes for such a procedure, we are in the second option of distributing the Assembly. We do not have the monopoly for this process, but we want to co-operate with other opposition parties. The only way to give Kosovo a new alternative is by going to the elections and winning them. We don't have spears for our colleagues in opposition, we want to jointly have a motion through which the distribution of the Parliament is made. That makes sense by the end of June, eventually the first week of July. Then early elections have no logic whatsoever, as from autumn onward they entered the normal election cycle”, Citaku points out.

According to her, The PDK will not take unilateral action in the Assembly, but will have co-ordination with opposition parties so that the eventual no-confidence motion on Kurti government results in success.

We will not take unilateral action. We will continue to communicate with our colleagues in opposition and hope to find a common language and have a motion which would be successful. We're not in this attempt at crazardism. We have not made all this effort now a year or so to make a fiery speech in the Assembly and result in a failing motion. We want the motion to be successful and we will make efforts and continue to communicate with our opposition colleagues”, she says.

As for post-election coalitions, Citaku says it is still early to discuss them, but on the basis of current governance, it is difficult to co-operate with the ruling party.

Our candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, speaks after the elections. It's not time to talk about coalitions. However, it is clear that we want to give the country another government. A government that offers stability, predictability, development, which is central to the citizen of Kosovo and improves the life of its quality, a government that returns bridges of co-operation with our international allies. I fear that this kind of agenda is difficult for us to fulfill with Vetevendosje Movement as partner”, he declares.

Speaking of PDK chairman Memli Krasniqi's meeting and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, she says the same was only to agree to early elections.

According to her, changing the PDK's stance on voting international agreements has not emerged from that meeting, but has come as a candidate for PDK prime minister Bedri Hamza.

Our “Candidat for Prime Minister Bedri Hamza, since early April, shortly after nomining for prime minister, has asked the PDK to change its stance on international agreements. After all, they are not government documents, but Kosovo agreements with different international mechanisms. He has made serious efforts, and he has made it known. So our position on international agreements is the result of Bedri Hamza's efforts that certain processes in parliament close and don't waste time in order to open the door to go to the polls. The decision on international agreements is not related to the meeting of Prime Minister Kurti with Chairman Krasniqi”, it concludes.
