About 2:40 a.m., two young people were detained after being caught racing their vehicles on a public street.
Drivers, identified as B.Z., 29, and E.B., 22, were being put in danger and were violating traffic rules, and thus faced the legal consequences of their actions.
Authorities awarded them 500-euro fines each, along with 5 negative points and the removal of the driver's license for one year.
The move marks an ongoing and sustained effort by police to maintain road safety.
Police appeal all drivers to show increased care and respect signs of communication in order to prevent similar accidents.
Police also invite citizens not to hesitate and report any possible violation of communications rules using available methods for reporting, including the digital app “Call 911 and guard numbers 192, 0290/326-250 and 0290/322-406.
