The former investigator in Slobodan Milosevic's trial case and professor at Amsterdam University Nevenka Tromp has named the Special Court as being created for Serbia's political interests.
Tromp has said that Kosovo's specialised “Chambers have been created and aimed at principally softening or bringing Serbia together on a very serious path, which needs Brussels dialogue”.
This is obvious that there is an interesting political background. Why do we say that in view of what is happening at the International Criminal Court and those charges that have been declared by the chief prosecutor against the leaders of Hamas and Israel. So the riots, war crimes are taking place every day, but only a select number of these crimes in specific regions will be addressed at The Hague”, Tromp has declared, for RTK.
Tutje Tromp has said there is no public attention in the international sphere to the judgments and decisions this Hague-based Court makes.
There's no public attention at all on what's happening in the Special Chambers. Kosovo certainly pays attention for understandable reasons, but even the countries of the former Yugoslavia do not report on what is happening. So what would be the purpose of this court if it doesn't echo throughout the region, don't the broadcasters take this trial seriously or it's the general interest that no one understands what this court is doing, it said.
