Austrian diplomat for Wessel: I know it's been done with information services for The KLA, during the war, was introduced as number 7

This statement, Kickert did so after Judge Christoph Barthe was asked whether he knew what Wessel's duties were during the war and at the end of it, reports “Justice Vow”.

Kickert added that he is unaware of any intelligence-terringing or military intelligence services. He also said that if there were such things, he would not be surprised.

Judge Barthe said that in statements for the SPS, the witness had mentioned that Wessel had the post of Kosovo Intelligence Service chief.

However, the Austrian diplomat said that there were colleagues involved in the field and had met Wessel in the quality of the chief of the Intelligence Service.

“I had European colleagues who were involved in this area, that is, the information field and had met Wessel in his post, and there was also someone else from the international community who was trying to gain some sort of control over specific elements who, after the war, tended to go towards organised crime”, the witness said.

The Witness said that he has no knowledge of who appointed Wessel in his position and how he was chosen.

Among other things, Kickert said he did not know for certain whether the four accused were part of the Kosovo Liberation Army General Staff (UÇK).

While, regarding a meeting with Adem Demachim that the witness had had on July 6, 1998, confirmed that he had told him he was not the political representative of The NLA didn't tell him if there was anyone else.

According to him, there were constantly Serbian claims, some published in Albanian media for detentions and kidnappings by the KLA. However, he said there is no evidence of such things and that he did not believe much in the propaganda of either side.
