69th SPS Witness Ends Evidence in Case Against Former KLA Chiefs

This witness's testimony has been heard at the public's private session and ended before going to lunch break, reports the “Justice Trust”.

It is noteworthy that the SPS represented by prosecutor Caesar Mihalcuk announced that two witnesses bearing codes 03170 and 04410 are scheduled for next week to be heard.

Also, he announced that in case they have time, two other witnesses who have them ready and carry the codes of 04824 and 00992 who will testify in video-connection.

ZPS: 69th Witness and his brother were arrested and mistreated by people holding KLA tape

In Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( The DPS) in The Hague has begun testifying to the 69th witness of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, which is on protective measures and has the W01336 code in the judicial process against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

The witness questions started Z. The SP, represented by prosecutor Caesar Mihalcuk, who said the witness along with his brother has been arrested in a spot near Pristina by persons who have carried KLA wing bandages who later mistreated them, reports the “Justice Vow bet”.

The witness 01336 with him was arrested on June 14, 1999, in a seat near Pristina by a group of armed men wearing several KLA arm bandages. Both men were bound, blindfolded, beaten, and called into a house where they were mistreated. Then he calls them in another house that was not far from the former location and puts them in the basement of that house. In short, then there is a third victim. The three men were interrogated and beaten”, the prosecutor said while reading the summary.

Later, the prosecutor said the witness, along with the other two detainees, had managed to escape and had sought help from KFOR.

On June 15, 1999, after being beaten for many hours, the witness, number 01336 along with the other two detainees, managed to escape and asked KFOR for help”, the prosecutor said, passing on to other questions at private session to the public.

Prior to that, the prosecutor demanded that all statements of the witness given to the justice authorities, along with the accompanying materials, be accepted as material evidence, which has been approved by the chairman of the panel.

Significantly, the chairman of the court, Charles Smith III, said the testimony of this witness is expected to last about four hours that one of them is divided for the SPS, 15 minutes for the defender of the victims, and two and a half hours for the suspects' defence questions.

At the beginning of the session, the chief judge announced that Krasniqi has given up the right to participate physically in the courtroom and is following through video connection, while the other three indictees are present.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
