Writer Ymer Elshani was killed on March 17th 1999 by Serb forces. But his house, launched by the girl Teuta Elshani, is turning into a museum.
She's turning her pain into a force to keep creativity, her name, and her memories alive for her father.
So says Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Blerta Deliu.
The “Teuta, who now lives in the United States, for the last time her father, poet Ymer Elshani, saw on March 17, 1999. That day, Serbian forces killed in Poklek, 53 members of the Elshani, Muqolli, Caraku and Hoxha”, Deliu wrote on Facebook.
After the war, Teuta has decided to turn the pain into a force to keep creativity, name and memories of her father” alive.
Now, the home of our poet, Ymer, is turning into a museum house. And his literary creativity, beyond what was published up to that time, will live throughout generations thanks to the hard work of Teuta”.
You always felt proud of your father, as, of course, he would feel with you”
