Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq is staying in Paris, where he will meet with France's president, Emmanuel Macron on Monday.
On April 8th, Vuciq published a video in his Instagram account, in which he said he felt “in the fever and responsible before today's” meetings.
Earlier, he has warned that he has laid a wreath of flowers on the plaque of the memorial “Besniker for loyalty”, in front of the Palace of the Invalids in Paris, which is a symbol of the alliance between the Serbian and French people in two world wars.
France has always loved us. Glory to our ancestors and to pay Serbia-French friendship” has written the Serbian president.
Talks between Vuciqi and his French counterpart, Macron, are expected to begin at about 8 pm, after which a joint media conference is envisioned, followed by a dinner among leaders.
Prior to his departure to Paris, Vucin has announced that he will discuss 14 topics with the French president from the agricultural industry to artificial intelligence and nuclear energy.
On 5 April, Serbia's Government adopted a Memorandum of Understanding with the French energy company EDF for establishing a co-operation relationship for energy transition, which, as Serbia's Energy Ministry has explained, creates conditions for a strategic partnership in the assessment of the potential for developing a civil nuclear programme in Serbia.
The Elize Palace has earlier announced that the two leaders will discuss Serbia's European integration and relations between Serbia and Kosovo, that Macro will confirm its commitment and full support for Serbia's European integration “, and that the “normalisation of relations with Kosovo is an integral part of the membership process” in the European Union.
France and Germany have ideas on the road to normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia, which the two sides accepted at the end of February 2023 in Brussels, while the parties agreed on Anex for implementation of the agreement in March of the same year in Ohrid.
This will be the 20th meeting between Vucinqi and Macroni to date. / REL
