With the deposit of this amount, Donald Trump has managed to evade state asset confiscated, reports the BBC.
In February, authorities found that the former US president had cheated on the property value declaration and was ordered to pay a $464m sentence.
The Trump was initially ordered to deposit the full amount of fine, but the sentence was later reduced to $175m last week after his lawyers said it was impossible to ensure such a guarantee.
“Sic was promised, President Trump has deposited the payment. He looks forward to being acquitted in appeals and overturning this unfair” decision, his lawyer, Alina Habba, has declared.
If the three judges in the appeals panel decide against him, he will have to provide a total of $464m or risk the breakup of his property empire. /Koha.net/
