Taiwan's Central Weather Administration has advised residents to evacuate to higher ground, as there is danger for tsunamis, writes BBC, broadcast Klakosova.tv.
Japan's Meteorological Agency also issued a tsunami warning for the Miyaakima and Okinawa islands, warning of waves of up to 3m expected soon.
