With the arrival of the pre-election campaign in northern Macedonia, political party rhetoric is getting rough. For three weeks political parties will promote their political programmes with direct meetings with citizens throughout all areas. But, according to organisations, which will monitor the election process, this campaign will be tense. From the non-government organisation “CIVIL” say political parties have only started prematurely to announce their pledges about what they are able to do in the next mandate to get citizens' votes.
The electoral campaign is expected to be aggressive, filled with discrediting tones in public disk. The speech will use the hate language on different grounds, such as ethnic, gender, and other things.
As for the election organisation, we have no doubt that if laws are observed, they will be democratic because there are institutions in the country that maintain order and authority that provide a positive environment in them.
As for the political war itself in the pre-election campaign, we do not expect fair behaviour from any party that will participate in the election, rather it will be a cold-hot game”, said Jabir Pigalla, the non-governmental organisation “CIVIL”
The first round of Presidential Elections will be held on April 24th, while after two weeks, on May 8th, together with the second round of election of the new president of state, the Parliamentary Elections will also be held. According to the CIVIL NGO, the race will be strong in both blocs, both Albanians and Macedonians between position and current opposition. They urge citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to political provocations, since even measurements of the relevant social networks are not very relevant, and their credibility is questionable depending on the different circles that are published. Pigalla said CIVIL this year will monitor both election processes with mobile teams at each location and in the Election Commissions, but also directly to the KSHZ. /Alsat. mk
