Finland will support Kosovo in membership in international organisations. So has Finnish Ambassador to Kosovo Matti Nissinen.
He said that under the umbrella of the Council of Europe, Kosovo must especially protect minorities.
“Finland supports Kosovo's aspirations in foreign policy, and that includes membership in international organisations. This support remains steadfast on Finland's part. That includes membership in the Council of Europe. We, above all, view this as a matter of human rights, and this is something that is done for the people of the country and for the human rights of the people of Kosovo. Under the umbrella of the Council of Europe, Kosovo will be part of human rights regimes, and this is an extremely valuable thing which includes special responsibility for the protection of minorities”, he said in rtk.
