The European Council and the European Parliament have reached a temporary agreement on creating a ease for the reforms and economic growth of the Western Balkan region. Two billion euros in grants and four billion euros in loans will be extended to European Union partners in the Western Balkans, as part of the existing Instrument for Pre-Ademi Asstenication, thus significantly increasing financial assistance for Albania.
The interim agreement, which was approved this Thursday by the European Council Presidency and the European Parliament, will also need to receive a final approval in terms of legal-lingual revision -- a procedure that is simply applied for formalisation.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola wrote on the social X network that enlargement is the strongest geopolitical tool of the EU ʹ and 6 billion-euro investment in the Western Balkan region will help the region be ready with the common market before membership.
The Western Balkans Growth Plan was introduced by the European Commission on November 8th last year, and our country is expected to benefit from this one billion-euro funding plan.
