The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung ( FAZ) has published a writing on the visit of Prime Minister Kurti to Berlin and developments about Kosovo's membership in Council of Europe. According to the FAZ, reliance on the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe member states is not as clear as in the KE Parliamentary Assembly, where accession was recommended. According to the newspaper Kurti, it has said that association can be founded by Serbs themselves because the government can impose it because it would be a violation of the principles of the Council of Europe and the Constitution of Kosovo. The EU has proposed draft status for Association, but the FAZ cites that the five Western countries have also proposed.
But, the German newspaper stresses that even young mayors have not been elected in northern municipalities, and that, according to writing, has been deliberately set to block Kosovo's association and integration into the KiE.
” Belgrade prohibits Serbian politicians from taking promising initiatives to establish an association of municipalities or to support proposals that are in line with the Council of Europe, while at the same time complaining loudly about the lack of that association.
A perfect excuse for Serbian diplomacy has been created in Belgrade to prevent Kosovo's integration into the West. With Kosovo's left hand on conditions, the right is ensuring that they are not met”, the German newspaper writes away.
For this very reason, writes Frankfurter Legendine Zeitung that SPD politicians have suggested the Vuciqi trap be averted.
The “in order to meet Quinti's request, there was also discussion in Berlin whether the proposal for a Serbian association of municipalities could now be handed over for review of the Council of Europe's constitutional lawyers. This could be a way out of the Serbian trap, according to SPD politicians in Berlin”.
QU The INT has demanded that the draft association status be submitted for assessment to the Constitutional Court as a step of the Kurti Government to establish association that would convince member states to give their pro-Kosovo vote for membership in the KiE. President of France Emmanuel Macron did the same research.
