Protests ahead of Tirana City Hall citizens clash with police forces, drop Molotova

Opposition citizens and deputies have gathered in front of Tirana City Hall to protest Mayor Erion Veliaj in terms of the 5D Dosje case, where municipal directors and officials have fallen into the SPAK net.

Protesters have attempted to break the police cord, where they have hedur and Molotova at the city gate.

Hundreds of citizens are heard calling “O thief, or thief”.

They've also put apples and smokes in the direction of the building.

Municipal advisers are not allowed to go in, not at least before the protest is over.

That's what councillors themselves have been doing, after communicating with police director Tirana Tony Vocaj.

News of the protest was made public by various opposition exhibits, through social media.

We remember that, Tirana's first citizen, Erion Veliaj, in a reaction from his office has stood up for former officials of the institution he heads, who are already behind bars.

According to Veliaj, former directors were in charge of the post and have accomplished it best.

“Redi Mola turned into a bankrupt water pipeline company. Return Tirana from 7 hours to 24 hours of water supply. Taulant Tusha has been outstandingly pursuing the job. He has been attending Tirana's” projects with priority, the mayor said.

He described all opposition reactions as witch hunts.

For Veliaj a mayor cannot know anything.

Waiting for their last word, I tell you that no illegal profit of them has tied me. I may have made a lot of mistakes, but I've never signed for personal or illegal profit”.

Meanwhile, the Special Court has decided to put measures into effect for former Tirana municipal officials, leaving 3 of them and 5 more in charge of presentation in prison.

Thus, to the extent of prison arrest, citizens of Redi Molla, Margilen Qato and Taulant Tuche will remain.

According to SPAK, Mariglen Qato and Redi Mola are de facto owners of the 5D company, which has resulted in several tenders near the municipality. The investigation was initiated mainly by SPAK, then it was Belinda Kullici who sent a new confession to the 5D file.

Two days ago, the SPAK Special Prosecution has signed nine security measures for former Tirana municipality officials.

It is learned that the security measure is also signed for Marglen Qato, former director of the Territorial Protection Inspectorate (IMT) in Tirana's Baskia and former UKT Director Redi Molla.

Of the security measures, 3 of them are in prison, while others are house arrest and presentation duties. On January 26th, Albanian Post had warned that six directors in Tirana's City Hall could face SPAK justice very quickly.

The SPAK on the basis of verifications conducted mainly, has begun investigations into criminal proceedings for criminal acts “The violation of the equality of participants in tenders and public auctions” and “passive corruption of persons exercising public functions”.

Likewise, the Special Prosecution on the basis of criminal conglomerate conducted by citizen Belinda Kallici has recorded criminal proceedings No.121, date 23.05.2023. Both criminal proceedings have joined a single criminal prosecution, counted by no.75 year 2023.

Regarding this criminal proceedings, for a several-month period and without letup, necessary investigative actions have been carried out, including management and verification of information from open sources, conducting pro-active investigative actions, conducting checkups of countries and persons, sequencing material evidence, managing the documentation of a series of procurement procedures, conducting technical and computer expertise, reviewing and analyzing all managed evidence and documents.

From sources of evidence collected under the investigation of this criminal prosecution have created reasonable doubts that citizens R.M. and M.Q. are real partners and owners “de facto” of society “5D Construction” sh.p.k.
