The chairman of the United Education, Science and Culture Union (SBASHK), Nundman Jasharaj, says Education Minister Arberie Nagavci has orders by Prime Minister Albin Kurti not to meet with trade unions.
Jasharaj said in a media communiqué that Nagavci is continuing “with silence” and that “still runs out of meetings”.
You responded to the media a few days ago that you were willing to meet with the SBASK and others in the ministry of education, and we started a request again on April 22nd thinking that you and the Government have changed access to unions and dialogue, but the answer from your cabinet was missing. On April 25th, we sent you a letter and informed you about the May 1st protest and sent all the legitimate membership requirements, which even the respected media published. You Minister continued with the same approach and silence and still missed meetings with us, but tell the truth before the media. We know that you have orders from the prime minister, and not only you, not to meet the unions and you need to get permission from him and anyone else, that when you meet with this, but please don't state before the media that you're ready to meet the SBASK and others because that's not true”, Jasharaj said.
The SBASK leader has warned that 1 May protest will be held because, as they say, the government has kept its promises of teaching conditions. The SBASK has also warned a September 1 strike, as it did in 2022.
