Police: Vote process in the north has passed smoothly, without incident

Kosovo police inform that in time have made all its police planning regarding the voting process in northern Mitrovica municipalities, Zubin Potok, Leposaviqi and Zvecan, which was held today, the process which assessed security has gone smoothly and without incident until the closure of polling stations.
In order to provide security and governance for the voting process had a sufficient number of police officials, mostly of public order, committed themselves to police officials of different profiles, within the Kosovo Police.
The purpose of this operational order for this voting process was:
Establishing a peaceful and secure climate for all citizens of the country's four northern municipalities, maintaining order, calming and public safety in the pre-term country and following the voting process.
Ensure the polling centres, Municipal Councils, Municipal Deposit, the Centre for Counting of Results and Central Deposit.
The safe approach and security of all the sensitive material from all the destinations ahead according to the security plan until the police operation is completed.
The initiative and prosecution of any criminal acts against voting rights and the enterprise of all procedure/penal measures against anyone who conflicts with the country's positive laws regulating/sanciating illegal actions towards this process, in co-ordination and close co-operation with the State Prosecutor according to the action plans and preliminary agreements based on law”, the report is said to have sent to the media.
“Planification and implementation of this voting process is managed by the Central Election Commission (KQZ) according to legal competencies, while Kosovo Police have been and continue to be responsible for maintaining order and public calm, undertaking all preventative, operational and investigative measures for creating a safe environment throughout the voting process and after that, as well as assisting the requirements of the CEC<2>, it is said further in the statement.
