LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has remembered the martyrs on the 25th anniversary of Kostare's Battle.
In a Facebook post, he wrote that 25 years ago KLA boys and girls began the battle of breaking the Albanian border, thus starting one of the most glorious Albanian confrontations.

A quarter century from the great battle of Koshara. Today, with the triumphant living, we honored the fallen of eternity. 25 years ago, on the morning of April 9, 1999, boys and girls of the Liberation Army began the battle of breaking the Albanian border. With this act, they also launched one of the most glorious 20th century Albanian confrontations.
Their act of bravery, more than symbolic of breaking a wall of conquest, was inspired by our journey to freedom. Kostare's military triumph was a threat to all Albanians.
Today, we honor the fallen; we thank all the living. Today, we remember all 113 Hizira heroes and their sacrifice on the altar of freedom. Agim, Saliu, Abazi, Xhemajli, Ali with each other fallen, reminds us how heavy freedom weighs, what expensive sacrifice the sons and girls of the NLA today experience citizenship.
Today, we also remember and honor Frenchman Palard Arnaud Pierre, Algerian Murad Muhammad Ali of Italian Francesco Giuseppe Bider.
The families of Francesco Giuseppe Bider had the honor of meeting him today next to his neck. With pride, his brother also showed us the military hat of his father's grandfather; which stood near an Albanian plusity as family heritage. Francis was a volunteer in Kostunica. He has fallen for our freedom of generations to come!
The Kostunica, the fallen, this glory and this sacrifice, is a constant sign of the reminder that every day of ours today is the obligation to serve our holy homeland Kosovo.
Glory to the martyrs!
