The number of patients who have sought treatment at Kosovo University Clinical Centre Emergency Service during the first quarter of this year is over 22 thousand and 200 patients.

QKUK Emergency Service Director Nasser Syla in an interview for Online Economics says 1381 cases were from traffic accidents, and 12 cases of gunshot injuries and 17 with cold weapons.

During this quarter at the Emergency Center we still have very large numbers of patients, it has been very frequent despite what we know from last year where over 92 thousand patients have been treated. During this period at the Emergency Center, 22 thousand and 219 patients have been treated, which still averages over 270 patients within 24 hours, which indicates that in a space of 503 square meters and with only 29 beds and staffs known to be the number of doctors and emergency medical professionals is small in Kosovo”, says Syla.

“Because of these that 523 operations have to be mentioned by the total number of patients (5801 patients), 1381 cases have been due to communications accidents, and 12 cases of gunshot injuries and 17 with cold weapons, by means are drilling tools, cuts, etc., and 62 of them have been due to trauma or beating. These are the figures that enter the 5081 patients”, Syla says away.

The challenge, Syla, sees the meeting with the patients ' family, as health staff is often offended and attacked by them. In this regard, he says, they have also increased the number of security members.

“Work in emergency medicine is very challenging, and now the challenges are many. They're both physical, emotional, psychic, and stressful. When we talk physical, it's the approach of many parties in the emergency center, some of them have no human access, and we have the highest security rate in the emergency center. We're often having problems in the perspective of an escort frame attack, I'm saying that people watching because there's not been a hospital conflict or co-ordination with patients, but the biggest problem does, so there's x cases that the health staff is being mistreated and offended in the worst way that and the surveillance staff, ”, Syla said.

The eye points out that the Emergency Centre has a space of 503 square meters, which it considers insufficient compared to the volume of treatment requirements. As for the equipment supply, it says they stay well, and it also evaluates the situation with the provision of essential drugs.

The Emergency Center has a narrow space even when it's been created since 99) it has an extremely narrow space of 503 square meters. We've got 20 beds and we're waiting for the renovation of the Emergency Center where it's going to be added to three capacity beds, but again, we're tight, but with the latest action of QKUK and the Ministry of Health... we're waiting to see in renovation and hopefully being carried out as short as possible and refreshed a little bit, getting equipment, beds and new stuff, Syla said.
