Similarly, the Assembly flatly rejected the amendments proposed by Serbia.
Earlier in the day, the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy in the Council of Europe has rejected several other amendments proposed by the Serbian delegation and several Italian and Hungarian deputies for the founding of the Association of Serb-run municipalities to be made a condition for Kosovo's membership in the KiE.
While yesterday on the Committee for Legal and Human Rights in the Council of Europe was unanimously voted in favour of Kosovo's application for membership.
Kosovo took a step towards membership in the Council of Europe on 27 March. Despite the vote against Serbia and two other countries, the KiE Committee for Policy and Democracy approved the Kosovo rapporteur's report, Dora Bakojannis, who recommends that the country has met the conditions for full membership in the Council of Europe.
Now, the final word for Kosovo membership must be given to the Council of Europe Council of Ministers in May.
